Social Fluency Lab

Practice real conversations. Build real relational skills.

We're exploring a new way for peer support professionals to strengthen relational skills through interactive, AI-powered conversation practice.

Why this Matters

Relational Skills are at the heart of peer support work-yet they are often the hardest to develop.

Most training happens in workshops, while deep learning happens in real conversations. Supervisors have limited time for coaching, and staff are often left to build critical skills like motivational interviewing, boundary-setting, and responding to resistance through trial and error. There is currently no practical way to practice these conversations safely and consistently between training and real-world use.

What We're Exploring

The Social Fluency Lab is an early-stage concept focused on creating a practice environment for relational skills.

Instead of traditional training, we're exploring the idea of interactive simulations where professionals can practice real-world conversations, experiment with different responses, receive immediate guidance, and build confidence over time.

We're currently in the early stages and gathering input from people working in the field.

We're Focusing On

    • Practicing Real Conversations - Exploring realistic interactions in a safe environment.

    • Experimenting With Responses - Trying different approaches and learning through reflection.

    • Receiving Immediate Guidance - Building awareness and confidence while practicing.

    • Growing Relational Intelligence - Strengthening skills through repeated experience.

Your Input Matters

We're gathering feedback to better understand:

We're gathering feedback to better understand:

  • whether motivational interviewing is a meaningful challenge

  • how these challenges show up in real work

  • how organizations currently support skill development

  • whether a practice-based approach would be valuable
